New QCO for Steel Wires or Strands Nylon or Wire Ropes and Wire Mesh

MINISTRY OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY (Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade) has notified a Quality Control Order to make ISI Mark mandatory for Steel Wires or Strands Nylon or Wire Ropes and Wire Mesh to make ISI Mark mandatory.

Date of Implementation of Mandatory BIS Certification

As mentioned in Quality Control Order (QCO), it shall come into force on the expiry of six months from the date of publication of this notification in the Official Gazette.

ISI Mark Certification for Steel Wires or Strands Nylon or Wire Ropes and Wire Mesh

Now, after 6 months from the date of publication of this notification, ISI Mark will be mandatory for these products. After 6 months manufacturers of these products Steel Wires or Strands Nylon or Wire Ropes and Wire Mesh must have BIS Certification under the Bureau of Indian Standards and they are not allowed to sell their products in the market without BIS Certification.

     7. Grant of ISI Mark Certification:

The ISI mark can then be affixed to your certified products, indicating compliance with the Indian Standard.
