This QCO was published on 19th October, 2023 by the Bureau of Indian Standards in the official gazette.

  • Lauric Acid – IS 10931 : 1984
  • Acid Oil – IS 12029 : 1986
  • Palm Fatty Acids – IS 12067: 1987
  • Rice Bran Fatty Acids – IS 12068 :1987
  • Coconut Fatty Acids – IS 12069 : 1987
  • Hydrogenated Rice Bran Fatty Acids – IS 12361 :1988

Implementation of this QCO

For all 6 chemicals mentioned in this QCO, this order shall come into force on 24th April 2024. This order is mandatory for both domestic manufacturers and foreign manufacturers or importers.

Compulsory Use of Standard Mark (ISI Mark)

After implementation of this QCO, the chemicals mentioned in this QCO must adhere to the standard mark specified for each product. The manufacturers of these chemicals must get BIS certification to manufacture or produce and sell in the market.

If any manufacturer or importer contravenes the provision of this Order shall be punishable under the provisions of the Bureau of Indian Standards Act, 2016, or may face legal consequences in the future.
