  2. It shall come into force on the expiry of 6 months from the date of publication of this notification in the Official Gazette.
  • For large scale industries or foreign manufacturers or importers, this order shall come into force from 6 months from the date of publication.
  • For small enterprises, it shall come into force with effect from 9 months from the date of publication of this notification.
  • For micro enterprises, it shall come into force with effect from 12 months from the date of publication of this notification.

Compulsory Use of Standard Mark

After the implementation of this QCO, manufacturers or importers of Asbestos or Fibre Cement-based products must have BIS Certification to manufacture and sell in the Indian market. Once the manufacturers are certified by BIS, they can affix the ISI standard mark on their products. This mark signifies adherence to quality standards and serves as a mark of credibility for consumers. If any person (manufacturer or importer) who contravenes the provisions of this Order shall be punishable under the provision of BIS Act, 2016.
